FEMININE
HYGIENE

Feminine hygiene is a general euphemism used to describe personal care products used
by women during menstruation, vaginal discharge, and other bodily functions related
to the vulva. Sanitary napkins (American English) / Sanitary towels (British English),
pantiliners, tampons, menstrual cups, and feminine wipes are the major categories of
feminine hygiene products.

SECTION 3

HOW
TO
MAINTAIN
FEMININE
HYGIENE

With so many products on the market today designed to help women practice feminine
hygiene, many girls and women think they need them. This is simply not true. You
don't need commercially manufactured chemicals and perfumes to maintain good feminine
hygiene. They will only irritate your sensitive skin. Follow these steps to clean and
take care of your most private areas.

Things You'll Need

Mild soap and water

Instructions

1. Clean your feminine area daily with warm water and a mild soap. If you are comfortable
doing so, cleaning your private area with your clean soapy hand will eliminate the risk of
introducing bacteria from a washcloth into your vagina. Otherwise, use a fresh washcloth
every time you cleanse this area.

2. Shower or bathe every day. Your private areas sweat just like the rest of you, so it is
very important that you wash away any sweat or dirt that may have gathered there. Always
cleanse your feminine parts after any kind of sexual contact, even if it was only touching
or oral contact. This will greatly reduce your risk of infection in your vagina as well as
your urinary tract.

3. Change pads or tampons often during your menstrual cycle. Leaving a tampon in too long
or wearing the same pad for an extended period greatly increases your chance of infection.
Changing your tampon or pad often will also reduce any chance of developing an odor.

4. Respect your body's ability to cleanse itself. A woman's vagina will clean itself out
daily with natural discharge. Using additional chemicals or products can disrupt this
natural process.

Tips & Warnings

If you notice any itchiness, changes in the color of your vaginal discharge or its odor visit
your doctor right away. These are signs of possible infection.

Don't use douches, perfumes or powders on your vaginal area.

WATER

The Importance of Water in Your Daily Life

FOR years health advisers have been telling us we should drink at least eight glasses of
water a day.

DRINK

EVERY diet and healthy eating regime recommends we drink eight to 10 glasses of water a day.

A high level of water intake daily can enhance digestion, improve skin condition and help
detoxify while improving every aspect of health.

Drinking enough H2O can cure headaches, back pain, arthritis, ulcers, asthma, hypertension,
morning sickness and fatigue, while also boosting energy and curbing hunger pangs.

Scientists have also proved that drinking just five glasses a day decreases the risk of colon
cancer by 49 per cent, breast cancer by 79 per cent and bladder cancer by up to 50 per cent.

SECTION 6

COLON
CLEANSING

Colon cleansing (colon therapy) encompasses a number of alternative medical therapies
intended to remove fecal waste and unidentified toxins from the colon and intestinal
tract. Colon cleansing may take the form of colon hydrotherapy (also called colonics
or colonic irrigation) or oral cleansing regimens.

Colon hydrotherapy uses enemas to inject water, sometimes mixed with herbs, or other
liquids, into the colon using special equipment. Oral cleaning uses dietary fiber,
herbs, dietary supplements or laxatives.

SECTION 7

COLONIC
IRRIGATION

The colon collects many of the body's toxins, but once they are washed away with a
good old fashioned douche, colon hydrotherapy fans report vast improvements in skin
condition, hair lustre and cellulite.

It can also help alleviate arthritis, psoriasis, food allergies and chronic fatigue.

SECTION 8

WHAT
IS A
COLONIC
IRRIGATION?

A colonic irrigation is basically puttting water up your rectum in the thought that
it will clean out toxins and promote general health. Colonic irrigations are known
by many names, including high colonics, colonic hydrotherapy and colon cleansing.
Sometimes fasting or a particular diet may be used in conjunction with a colonic.

Function

Colonic irrigation is to flush toxins, parasites and very slow to digest foods out of
your colon and lower intestine. However, what these toxins are that need to come out
of the body have not been identified.

Features

A basic enema uses only about a pint of water which washes out the rectum, while colonic
irrigation sends water up the colon and into the lower intestine using as much as twenty
gallons of water. Sometimes water isn't used, but coffee, beer or herbal teas are used
instead. A tube is inserted in the rectum and attached to a shower unit or a water pump
of some kind, which pumps water into the body.

Considerations

Colonic irrigation and colon cleansings are considered alternative medical therapies and
are not endorsed by conventional medicine. Because they are alternative medicines, they
are generally not covered under any health insurance plan.

Warning

There are several medical problems that can result of colonic irrigations. One is the risk
of illnesses transmitted from the colonic pumps and tubes if they have not been properly
sterilized. Another is the risk of damage to your internal organs from the water pressure.
Another is that your digestive muscles will loose their ability to push food along, instead
relying on the colonic to do it.

SECTION 9

ENEMAS

Enemas differ from douching in that a much large quantity of water is taken up into
the body. The more water you take in to the body, the farther up the colon the water
travels. Enemas generally involve taking in a quart or more of water into the rectum
and large colon. This process normally takes several HOURS to do. As you take water
up into the colon, it is more complicated to get it all to come out again. So hours
later you can still have water and feces wanting to come out, much like if you had
diarrhea.

A healthy colon is essential to good health, which makes colon cleansing, parasite
cleansing, and detoxing a must. Everything we eat ends up in our bowels as toxins.
As these toxins build up, we end up with various diseases, such as being overweight,
constipation and candida.

SECTION 10

GALLSTONES

Gallstones, Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment, diagnosing gallstones, symptoms, causes,

In medicine, gallstones (choleliths) are crystalline bodies formed within the body by accretion
or concretion of normal or abnormal bile components.

Gallstones can occur anywhere within the biliary tree, including the gallbladder and the common
bile duct. Obstruction of the common bile duct is choledocholithiasis; obstruction of the biliary
tree can cause jaundice; obstruction of the outlet of the pancreatic exocrine system can cause
pancreatitis. Cholelithiasis is the presence of stones in the gallbladder or bile ducts: chole-
means "bile", lithia means "stone", and -sis means "process".

SECTION 11

DOUCHE

A stream of water, often containing medicinal or cleansing agents, that is applied to
a body part or cavity for hygienic or therapeutic purposes.

A stream of air applied in a similar way.

A douche is a stream of water or other liquid directed at the body or into one of its
orifices; in French it is simply a shower. Douching in English usage usually refers to
washing out the vagina, both for hygienic purposes, especially when there is an infection,
and after sexual intercourse, although the procedure has little contraceptive effect.

The use of chemical substances such as deodorants or detergents can cause local irritation,
and the use of excessive pressure can force liquid, contaminated with vaginal organisms,
into the uterus and Fallopian tubes and hence into the peritoneal cavity, where damage and
infection can result. Excessive douching, which removes the vagina's normal, beneficial
microorganisms, can also be dangerous.

DOUCHE

SECTION 12

DETOXIFICATION

Detoxification, or detox for short is the removal of toxic substances from the body.
In conventional medicine, detoxification can also be achieved artificially by techniques
such as dialysis and (in a very limited number of cases) chelation therapy. There is a
firm scientific base in evidence-based medicine for this type of detoxification.

Detoxification can also refer to the period of withdrawal during which a person's body
returns to homeostasis after long-term use of an addictive substance.

SECTION 13

BODY
CLEANSING

Body cleansing or detoxification is a treatment in alternative medicine which
proponents claim rid the body of accumulated harmful substances that exert a
negative effect on individual health. Critics argue that such cleansings are
often unnecessary, and are based on questionable or disproved scientific claims.
